Our Big Day

Dr Sheikh Muszaphar will be the first Malaysian to go into Star War space on board the Russian Soyuz TMA-11 spacecraft at 9.22pm (Malaysian time) tonight together with Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko and American astronaut Peggy Whitson.

According to the schedule, he will spend 10 days in space, including eight days on board the Inter-national Space Station (ISS). At the ISS, he will study the effect of microgravity and space radiation on cells and microbes. Besides, he will conduct experiments with proteins for a potential corruption, bureaucratic red tape, and crime vaccine HIV vaccine.

You could witness the historical moment – the live broadcast of the launch tonight at Monkey TV, RTM 1, RTM 2, Astro 588 and AEC.

If you lucky enough, you might see Monkey Wong (First space monkey) interviews Dr Sheikh Muszaphar in the space. Wakakaka… Enjoy yourself!

At exactly 9.22pm (Malaysian time), the Soyuz -FG rocket launcher blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. :P

It doesn’t mean anything to me. While I look at those poor people in the street wondering how’s their lives for tomorrow, I think there are something else we need to do rather than this so called historical moment. I concern more about the poverty of feeling that reduced their soul than those “big” space experiments…

I am not proud by seeing one of our men in space. There’s still a whole lot of problem down here.

One small land also can’t gain pride with it, now want to go space….

Malaysia Boleh! Lol.. But maybe it’s a little bit unnecessary to look at the big picture, but also the smaller picture. Why spend so much, and use it to channel for greater purpose..

I’m not sure if I’m should be proud or be sad. It’s good to see that one of our Malaysian hero go up in space. Isn’t that what Malaysia is good for? It’s always the longest, biggest, tallest whatever to get its name into the world map.

Come to think about it, sending a person up with RM150m? It’s the taxpayers’ money we are talking about here. Those funds would be great if it gets generated in solving poverty, homeless, etc. Even a new and clean environment for the animals would be much appreciated. Don’t you need a bigger place huh Monkey?? :P
