I think kids nowadays are just too lucky. Most of them own better handphones than ours. They spend too much time on SMS and become experts in text messaging shorthand. I’m just wondering what will their teacher reacts if anyone of them hands in an essay written entirely in text messaging shorthand. Who knows they might think that it’s easier than standard English! LOL! By the way, what is your favourite shorthand?

I agree about the handphones… sigh don’t know when I can save enough money to replace my old Nokia handphone!
My favourite short hand ah… I think is “dar”. Short for darling la…
:shame:
Dar for darling, so sweet!
my favorite shorthand is KNNCCB!
What is KNNCCB?
Long time didn’t hear about it
I’m trying to think of a favourite shorthand but it’s coming up blank. I think I’m too old for that.
Something happen to me… Getting old too… :hehe:
I rarely use shorthand….i keep thinking my receiving end won’t be able to understand what i write. So no shorthand. Haha
That’s good! Too many shorthand will spoil the language.
??, KNNCCB is ???(?)???
Oh~~ first time to hear that.
:haha:
my shorthand is quite standard la..else the recipient cannot understand.. =D
That’s good practice!
Hi, first time commenting on your blog, I think. Yes agree nowadays children like to use shorthand. But I like too cos it’s much faster to write. My fav is BTW and LOL.
I have a friend who often sms me in such short words I sometimes don’t understand what he’s saying.
So if he were to write my last sentence above, it’ll be something like this – Ive fren ofen sms me such shrt wrds I sumtimes dun undrstd wat hes sayg.
Nice to meet you foongpc!
Your friend too good in shorthand but it’s really very hard to read.
my only shorthand (I think) would be tmr = tomorrow
my short hand will be ” lol” – basically it doesnt really means its funny, but it practically means ” i have nth to say to you anymore, im lazy to respon to your message anymore… ” hehe
Well, I prefer using shorter english than short hand.. I like those with ” ‘ ” eg: I am = I’m
