Talking To Machine Make Me Sick

Cartoon - Operator is busy

I find it’s very annoying to call XXX Banks or any agencies that always push me to their machines to do business with. I don’t know how you feel every time you hear about:

“Welcome to blah blah blah… Press 1 for English, 2 for Chinese… … …”

After you key in all the information required, you got this:

“All our agents are still busy due to over-whelming responses…We will tend to you shortly” followed by annoying advertisements!

After you listen to the above message for several times, you find out your call is being cut off after being put on hold for such a long time!

Well, I know we’re in so called Information Technology age. For me, I still prefer to talk to human than machine. Anyway, no matter how I know I have to deal and live with it, isn’t it? Perhaps, they could make it more interesting by changing the option to:

“Honey, thanks for calling … Press 1 for Handsome…, 2 for Beauty…”

Sounds more interesting and attractive, right? More like a XXX kinda call! LOL!

This is how the banks cut cost…

If there are agents, that means eventually you will talk to human. Of course you may need to wait 10 minutes.

I always try to key zero a few times, or choose wrong answers. Some systems will connect you to an operator straight away if they detect you are not keying in the correct options.

I hate it too. I still have the call while waiting. I waited more than 20 minutes once calling the MAS hotline and later I still had to put down the phone cos it is damn irritating to hear to that silly music on.

If you had to wait too long, it only means that either:
1) the company you’re calling is too cheapskate (or clueless) to invest in sufficient call center agents (there actually are industry ratios of number of calls to number of agents), or,

2) the call center company (which the company you’re calling has outsourced to) is doing a terrible job and cutting corners

In this day and age of cost cutting, the problem you’re facing is all to common. Its usually not the fault of IT or the technology… but the lack of care and investment into proper CC training and facilities.

i know how u feel, cos i totally agree.

the worse thing is u key in all the details, only to wait wait wait and then they ask u all over again. what’s the point leh?

if u key in liao, shldnt their computer shows all about my details?

after asking, comes verification. so many questions somemore.

worse: after all these, “sorry sir, u hv to go into the branch to sort it out” damn! if i know i dun need to call u lah. I call to save my trip to the bank mah. true o not?

and sometimes i dun know which no to press oso. hehe! so simply press opps!

Yeah, u’re right. I still remember I called XXX bank to cancel my credit card not too long ago, that blardy fella asked all sort of questions and only told me to sort it out at their branch! Believe me, I will never use their service any more!
